Dear Curiosity Journal,

Yesterday, Rufus and I delivered our Icelandic ram, Tuxy, to a new group of 26 Fresian/Lacaune ewes to breed. Such is the life of a ram. They sire a season or two, and often move on to avoid inbreeding and genetic maladies. They play a distinctly different role on the farm than the ewes and lambs and are regarded as such. Their season and purpose is as clear, as it is limited. Tuxy played his role. He served his purpose. He was a very good boy who came to the gate for scratches and always wagged his tail. I look forward to meeting his lambs and hope they have his sweet disposition.
