Dear Curiosity Journal,
As a Capricorn, I thrive on routine. I find health and happiness in my string of steady habits. Almost everyday, I journal, read, do yoga, meditate, work, and hike. I almost always hike the same set of loops around the farm, and Balio knows them well, making the turns up ahead of me, tuned to my beat, anticipating my predictability. Some people might find this boring, but for me, it is a comfort. As a Cancer, Rufus craves more variety in his flow, so when he joins the hike, we tend to wander off trail, into gullies, toward water. When we deviate from our well-worn path, Balio is thrown off, having to backtrack and chase us down after he ran way up ahead. In the valley below the sugarbush, frigid water trickles and freezes, forming a bulbous mass. Like children, we check it out, scooting our feet in an attempt not to slip, running our hands over the smoothly sculpted stream, and getting curious about little ice caves. On days like today, I’m thankful for our core character differences, how we can complement one another and come up with beautiful moments like this one.
