Dear Curiosity Journal,
We were gifted a mushroom block at the winter solstice celebration, a Grey Dove Oyster mushroom block, to be exact. In the absence of our gardens, observing these fruiting fungi has been a welcome companionship, a light tether to the growing cycle, while resting from the seasonal labor. To witness the growth of a living thing somehow makes me feel more alive, more connected, more in sync with something greater than myself. It’s a simple joy to mark time with a mushroom.
