Dear Curiosity Journal,
BBBBRRRRRR! All of a sudden, winter is here! These are the harbingers on the farm.
- The water is frozen in the barn. Check.
- The wood stove gets moved into the barn. Check.
- The sheep water is frozen solid. Check.
- The goats are shivering. Check.
So, this morning I made a trip to Nelson’s Agricenter for a second water de-icer and goat coats while Rufus set up the chimney for the wood stove in the barn. I ended up getting Jersey calf blankets for the goats, but they fit perfectly, and I’m so happy they seem to be working out (so far). Of course, Peter had to re-headbutt all of the lambs to show them he’s still boss, even if he’s sporting a calf blanket. He made a big stink about putting it on, but he’ll thank me later.
