Dear Curiosity Journal,
My 2024 lambies are growing up. They are 5 months old now and already starting to fit in the adult-sized jackets. It is so fascinating to observe the development of their personalities (and my own attachment to them), most of them little copies of their mommies. For example, BamBam, although nursed by Betty (my not-so-secret favorite), has taken on her “bottle baby traits” and is very friendly and curious toward humans. He is the only lamb who seeks out attention. His twin sister, Buttercup, not so much. Carrot and Corn look and act very similar to their mom, Cauliflower. I can’t believe how big they are already, and (just like their mommy) they don’t want anything to do with people and are pretty challenging to capture. Baby Judy is as adorable and smiley as she is shy and conservative, a minikin JJ. Time and the recent separation from their mothers for breeding season seem to have accelerated their individuality, or perhaps I’m just noticing it more now. This spring they will be the big brothers and sisters, no longer the babies.
