Dear Curiosity Journal,
This year, we added Custom Curiosity to our programs, offering participants the option to co-create their own land-based learning experience. We work together with life-long learners to curate an event based on their curiosity and our current class list. This Saturday, I had the pleasure of working with 3 sisters who wanted to learn how to can tomato sauce. We harvested, washed, chopped, processed, boiled, and water bath canned 14 quarts of sauce together. It was so fun to share and witness these ladies learning this food preservation skill. While waiting for the sauce to boil, they toured the gardens, hung out with the sheep, and went on a hike, making the most of their day on the farm. These custom events definitely have a different feel than workshops for the general public, and I really enjoyed dialing in on their specific curiosity and creating a fun and educational day on the land just for them.
