Dear Curiosity Journal,
If the bottoms of your feet don’t hurt, did you even boogie? Our farm crew had a blast this weekend at Driftless Music Gardens for the The Boogiedown Music Festival. We love sharing our garden goodness with friends and hearing how much they appreciate a good handful of carrots to restore their vitality. We know that hosting events is hard work, and you need good food to keep going. I have admired the DMG crew’s capacity to hold events on their land for years and have learned a ton from watching them do everything from organizing logistics, problem solving, and putting out fires. They never cease to amaze me. My most cherished moment of the festival was singing and dancing to the People Brothers Band in the front row with Rufus, Annie, Karma, Aslan, and so many of our friends, grooving along to my favorite songs. As Mama T says, we’re out here spreading love and positivity through music, and there is no better feeling than being a part of a family and community with a heart like that! Thank you to everyone who makes these moments possible. We’ll see you at People Fest!
