Dear Curiosity Journal,
I’m so glad that I decided to call the vet to help Betty get back on her feet. He did such a wonderful job with her, I learned a ton, and Betty is feeling much better. She had retained some of her placenta which was making her sick, so he instructed me to increase the dosage and frequency of her antibiotic. He also gave her a bag of intravenous fluids which included a pain reliever/fever reducer and vitamin B. Within an hour, she was looking brighter and up moving around, so I put her out on grass as the vet had suggested, and she started grazing, took a long lick of the salt and mineral blocks, and enthusiastically attended to her lambs. While I had the vet here, I didn’t miss my opportunity to ask him all of my curious questions, so I feel the vet bill is well worth Betty’s recovery, my peace of mind, and the bonus knowledge I gained from conversing with him while we gave her the bag of fluids. I’m so happy to see Betty getting back to herself because her rambunctious little babies need her, and so do I.
