Dear Curiosity Journal,

If you are looking for me, I’m probably with the sheep. Not only are the twin lambs irresistible, I’m also keeping an eye on Momma Betty. This lambing was rough on her. She has diarrhea and is mostly laying down. I’ve been assisting her to her feet every couple of hours and she will stand for a few minutes to let the lambs eat, but seems to be weak and in pain and lays back down. I am treating her with antibiotics, since I had to intervene with the second lamb. I’ve also given her some probiotic paste and vitamin supplements to support her recovery. She is not running a fever, has been eating a little, and is attentive to her lambs, but I’m worried about her. If she isn’t on her feet by morning, I will call the vet.

Update: It’s Wednesday morning and Betty has not made much improvement, so Cashton Veterinary Services is sending someone out this afternoon to examine her.
