Dear Curiosity Journal,

On Saturday, Driftless Curiosity co-hosted a new program called “Growing Together: A Gardening & Tasting Event” with Rufus Haucke from Keewaydin Farms and Sarah Clemens from Noble Rind. Mother Nature gave us a gorgeous day and we gathered with a great group of gardeners and foodies. In the morning session, Rufus shared his gardening philosophy, demonstrated some small-scale garden tools, presented examples from our gardens and greenhouses, and answered lots of curiosity inspired questions. In the afternoon session, Sarah presented 6 small plates, sharing her “cheese monger” knowledge and creativity in pairing local vegetables, cheeses, and wines. This event was a magical microcosm of our shared passion for farming and food. Thank you to everyone who came out to make this day a success. I’m sending all of the gratitude to Sarah Clemens for sharing her beautiful work with us on a jam-packed Saturday, to Sarah’s mom, Diana Tapia and Arielle Goodman for volunteering, to Annie for putting in extra time and pulling lots of weeds this week to get the farm ready for the event, and of course, to Rufus, for always supporting and co-creating the Driftless Curiosity dream. I couldn’t ask for a better partner or community.
