Dear Curiosity Journal,
On Tuesday, we harvested and packed the fourth week of the spring CSA. From the field, forest, and stream, we gathered green garlic, ramps, napa cabbage, watercress, arugula, salad mix, tatsoi, mustard greens, rhubarb, asparagus, and kale. This box is heavy on the foliage, but spring is the season of green goodness, and a great opportunity to rejuvenate your body after a winter away from the garden. Sometimes I fall into an afternoon energy slump after my second cup of coffee wears off. I’ve already put in 8 hours, and I still have 6 to go. That’s when I reach for a few fronds of kale to rescue me from feeling sluggish when I have to keep moving. I would have never believed the uplift of energy before I consistently lived it myself. If coffee is my magic in a cup, then greens are my miracle on the go – the plants that make it all possible.
