Dear Curiosity Journal,

After another day of seeding, we’ve filled our transplant tables and need to make more space. We’re entering the window of time, following spring seeding, before the average last frost date of May 15th, when the transplant greenhouse is packed with plants waiting for their outdoor gardens. We still have a whole month before mid-May, when we can more safely assume that a freak frost won’t wipe everything out. I personally enjoy the neatness and newness of this stage, the tidy pods of potential all lined up, before weeds and weather disrupt the perfect little patterns of the seed flats. It’s the promising inception of the season waiting to take root.
