While Rufus was getting ready to head out to the greenhouse, he asked, “What does the calendar say today is good for?” and I was tickled that he cared to consent the celestial calendar. I wasn’t so sure that he had subscribed to the idea as I had. The Celestial Gardening Calendar for Growing Herbs, Vegetables, and Flowers in Sync with the Moon and Zodiac” by Jane Hawley Stevens said it was a good day for planting underground crops. “Good”, Rufus replied, “Let’s plant those flower bulbs and transplant the lovage”. Our plans and planets don’t always align, but it’s a pretty sweet feeling when they do.
