Dear Curiosity Journal,
My lavender experiment is flowering! The trial was looking pretty bleak with very low germination, near death by drought, and about a 3% survival rate. However, the survivors look robust and a few are dressed in that fancy, fragrant fashion that makes us fall in love with Lavandula angustifolia. Some takeaways from the analysis include altering the trays from open flats to 128 cells to avoid over seeding, placing trays outside the greenhouse to prevent overheating, and keeping the transplants near water to keep them from drying out. They are still in pots and I’m considering bringing them in for their first winter. Any lavender lovers want to lend me what they’ve learned?
