Dear Curiosity Journal,
As I head out the door for the Tuesday CSA harvest, I notice that, despite the hard work, I still quite enjoy the methodical march of the veggie packout. I observe a spark of gladness in my step. Knowing that I’m fully shucking all other responsibilities and diving into the farm side of life is rather freeing. Compartmentalizing and setting aside categories of tasks is a mental survival strategy at this point. Burnout is real. Keeping everything organized is challenging, and sometimes it’s nice to just temporarily detach from the demands and simply say, I’m washing beets now. Just washing these beautiful beets and appreciating their bright gold goodness. That is all. Oh and watering everything, just spacing out and sprinkling water on baby plants. Saving one little plant life at a time will give me the strength to complete the neverending admin tasks.
