Dear Curiosity Journal,

As the sun set on a long week, Driftless Curiosity and Unlimited Boundaries co-hosted our first circle practice. We gathered for a Fear and Fire Ritual which felt ironically timely. We presented the following invitation to the public: “In these challenging and complex times, what fears would you like to make visible to feed our collective fire? What might we burn to generate growth and spark new flames?

You are invited to circle around the campfire where we will practice an ancient and new technology of holding space to see what might emerge in a moment dedicated to connection, reflection, and slowing down. Show up as you are — that is more than enough”. We circled, we listened, we held the talking piece and voiced our fears with vulnerability. We cried, we connected, we cherished eldership, kinship, and friendship. We named an appreciation for the  nurturing power of the feminine. We matched our fears with the fierce energy we embody to pursue a life of purpose and deep meaning. What emerged within the collective was as transformative as the fire itself. I am so grateful for Arielle Goodman and Jenny Hegland of Unlimited Boundaries for facilitating this captivating evening of connection. You two shined with the brilliance of the moon overhead, reflecting the light in each of us. Thank you for holding space with us.
