Dear Curiosity Journal,
I ended a day of somber conversations by transplanting flowers. My mind was still reeling from running to topics like selling land, losing classmates, and canceling collaborations. I was emotionally exhausted and wanted only the quiet companionship of the garden. I methodically threw plugs to the ground and Rufus tucked them into the soil – Zinnias, Globe Amaranth, Strawflowers, Celosia, and Cosmos. I envision the efflorescence held in each seedling and the beauty that will come to be. Can I fast forward to see the same in me? When I survive the stress of the solstice drought, when my ship comes in, when my blossoms come out… then this sinking feeling will soar, like the birds overhead we plummet to the earth, returning to the sky once more.
