Dear Curiosity Journal,

Time for a reality check. Most of my content lands on the lighter side of life and I love highlighting the beauty of living on the land, but I don’t want to shy away from the hard parts either. Droughts are tough on farmers, not only in the fields, but financially. We’re putting up equipment for sale, calling family meetings, trying to consolidate debt, and struggling to make payments. We work almost nonstop but can’t seem to get ahead. We invest all of our time and energy into a high risk endeavor that depends on something as fickle as the weather. It’s no wonder why folks don’t want to farm anymore. We behold the beauty of the rainbow, but no pot of gold. Check on your farmer friends.
