Dear Curiosity Journal,

As I fill water buckets for the sheep, Rufus tells me he’s ready to connect the plumbing to the greenhouses and packshed. This is a pivotal spring moment when the ground thaws enough to bring the full irrigation system back into operation. It calls for a mini celebration and cheers to less bucket hauling and hose dragging. We can’t get away from it altogether because we will still use garden sprinklers and rotate the sheep on pasture, but it’s significantly decreased. It’s nice to have one task recede as waves of renewed responsibilities approach our shores. Water is pretty critical though. If the water goes down, there’s a domino effect that delivers a series of stinging slaps of reality regarding how necessary water is for literally everything. So, today I reflect and give gratitude for water.
