Dear Curiosity Journal,

I tune into the soft sound of water landing on soil and survey the seedlings. From an astounding distance, Rufus points out the first onion sprout of the season, not yet fully emerged from beneath the surface. I marvel at his eye for new growth. At this juncture of the season, we peer impatiently into the plantings, wondering if the seeds are going to work their magic. The cold weather and cloudy days aren’t doing us any favors in the greenhouses, but in the hidden places, seeds are awakening, roots are taking hold, and it’s only a matter of time and sunshine before we’re up to our elbows in produce.
