Dear Curiosity Journal,

We’ve come to the final week of our summer CSA program, the heaviest lift of the season, with the most shares, the hottest weather, and the highest maintenance period of the gardens. This day is a milestone because it marks the halfway point of our CSA season. We’ve completed 6 weeks of spring shares and 8 weeks of summer shares. Now we have a 2 week “break” before we pack 8 weeks of fall shares and 6 weeks of winter shares. There is an intermingling of fatigue, heat stress, and soreness in body with celebration, accomplishment, and satisfaction in mind. The farm crew sent up hoots of revelry as the last pallet rolled into the cooler. “We did it!” Our small, but mighty, team of 4 grew, packed, and delivered diverse vegetables to almost 100 households this summer. That’s a lot of veggie slinging! We want to thank all of our Keewaydin customers who support our farming addiction and allow us to continue to do this work that we love so deeply. We hope you will join us for the fall and winter CSA program. Rufus will be closing down the fall shares at the end of this week, so if you want to sign up, now is the time. If you are looking for us, we’ll be in the hammocks…just kidding, we have to keep gardening.
