Dear Curiosity Journal,

Campers arrive for the holiday weekend and their reaction to the farm is priceless. Hosting gives us the gift of seeing our work from another’s perspective. The gardens, flowers, animals, art, quiet and views have a distinct impact on people, especially those traveling from busy urban areas. One lady pulled in, looked around with a big smile, and said, “What is this place?” Another camper was walking through the farmstead while I was moving the flock, and the lambs were playfully kicking around being their silly selves, and the woman burst out laughing, saying “Oh my! That is the cutest! What the heck!?” These moments of joy, these glimpses of wonder, are a way for people to rekindle their connection to nature, and they are beautiful little sparks to behold.
