Dear Curiosity Journal,
The showers over the weekend created quite a soggy situation in the sheep shelter, so I asked Rufus to bring me a round bale for re-bedding the barn. I picked apart the bale, putting a thick layer over the bedding pack, which soaked up the extra moisture and ushered in the pleasant aroma of freshly cut hay. I joked with Rufus that I fixed them up with “fair bedding”, a fancy little facelift for their flat. I was so pleased with the remodel, that I had to hang around and watch them inspect the space and snuggle into the softness. The little lambs couldn’t resist the urge to “parkour” off the remainder of the round bale, which is always good for some girlish giggles. Happy ewe, happy me 🙂
