Dear Curiosity Journal,
Rufus and I went on a mini Driftless adventure yesterday to take a short break from the farm, absorb the artistry of the autumn hillsides, and connect to the land and each other outside of our ordinary patterns. We visited Rush Creek Natural Area, Mt. Hosmer Park, Lansing Driftless Area Visitors Center, and Magpie Gelato. There is a restful shift of perception when taking on the role of a tourist with curiosity in the driver’s seat. Exploring the woods, arriving at breathtaking panoramas, browsing exhibits, and sampling sweets with a wide-eyed, childlike wonder was a lovely way to rejuvenate, as well as revitalize our mission of deepening connections to the land through curiosity.
