Dear Curiosity Journal,

Summer is surging on and Betty’s twins, Birdie and Beauty, are grazing as much as they’re nursing these days. While nursing, they punch their little heads into Betty’s udder with such force that they nearly knock her sideways. I literally saw one of her hind hooves leave the ground the other day. More than one visitor has been taken aback by the sight of it. I’ve read that lambs should be 45 lbs and at least 60 days old before they are weaned. The twins are 47 days old and I don’t have any intention of separating them from Betty. I’m just thinking about how much longer her poor battered teats have to go. She doesn’t seem phased, patiently feeding them while they headbutt her, and just walks off when it gets too intense. She’s a real badass like that.
