Dear Curiosity Journal,
We’re spreading Día de Muertos marigold transplants across the farmscape this week. The driveway field, the greenhouse flower boxes, the fencerows, the feed bunk garden, and even one greenhouse bed (usually strictly reserved for vegetables) are all filled to capacity. I’m plugging flowers into the compost as quickly as Rufus can lay it down, and we still need to build more beds to finish the last 20 trays of marigolds, then there are the accent flowers. Oh my! I didn’t fully grasp the size of this year’s flower crop until we started plugging them in one by one, and hour after hour, we’re still chipping away at getting them into the garden, while simultaneously irrigating everything. Seeding flowers and transplanting them are two totally different tasks. Seeding is the easy part. Our goal is to get everything planted by the end of the week. If anyone would like to volunteer to help plant flowers, comment below and we’ll rally on Thursday or Friday
~Joy
