We painted, crafted, built, burned, and created until the sun went down, then started again when it came back up. We shared farm fresh meals, soaked in the beauty of the land, and reconnected to being a kid again. A ton of hard work went into the event, but the overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants made it all worthwhile. A huge thank you to my husband Rufus for continuing to build the Driftless Curiosity campus while he’s farming and making the farm a place for the community, another giant thank you to Julie Joy Hanson for helping to bring this event to life with everything from food, to decorations, to the Forest Apothecary Tent, teaching, and too many things to name, one more expression of gratitude for all of the volunteers behind the scenes (Karma, Joedy, Nick, Amy, Tim, Aunt Karla, Tamara, Cassondra, Shanna) helping with food, dishes, garbage, and all the jobs that no one sees. We see you. Oh, and a big thank you to Chauncey and Sam Schell for coming out and playing music for us on Saturday night (my personal favorite part of camp). I’m so fortunate to be surrounded by an incredible team of people who make epic events like this one possible. You are all amazing!
